I am a fan of the 25807ST which is the smallest offshore (38 mm) made by AP for a short period of time circa 1996. 1,000 pieces made and then production stopped.

I was looking at my steel bracelet and I saw a small stamp. After getting out the macro camera I see the stamp says GF which I believe to be the stamp of the famed Gay Frères bracelet maker.

Gay Frères helped design and manufacture the bracelets for the first Royal Oak 5402 and the Nautilus 3700.

Gay Frères was bought by Rolex in 1998.

Tritium dial, annual calendar, blue dial, unique size, Gay Frèresfull steel bracelet … what more can one ask for.

Highly collectible IMHO.

I now like to express my individuality with pieces like the 25807ST. For those who know. ☺️

I must be maturing as 38mm seems to be the sweetspot. Hopefully my watch fund matures soon too!!

It’s has the flavor of BOTH a royal oak and an offshore with a blue dial and complication.

If it was a production watch today, we know how much these would be going for. ☺️

I wonder how many have the stamp?  At least 2 ;-)

Should have the GF stamp.

I think most sellers don’t even know about the GF stamp.

it's such great watch and GF is such a cool add on.

See how useless “Case Diameter” alone is as a gauge of how a watch will wear? 😅

These dimensions are far more important:

✅ Dial size
✅ Lug-to-lug
✅ Thickness

It’s all about proportionality and the ratios of one dimension to another.

And yes, I generally favor discontinued models with low production numbers for all brands.

The petite tapissary dial would have been cut on a pantograph. We mostly see mega on offshores.

Make it in Ti with some kind of micro adjustment for the bracelet, and it would be perfect!

Never seen one in the flesh, but my only comment based on pictures is the size of the seconds subdial, looks a bit small.

Would be too big for this dial it made bigger. The symmetry is is a big part of this model.

I hear you on the changes for a production model. Having said that, part of the charm of this model is that it’s neo-vintage and has certain things about it that are not “perfect” but that retain the charm of a quirky era from the Swiss watch industry.

As a collector, I find quirky to cool. ☺️

And probably my feelings would change if I see the real thing, pictures are not enough to feel the soul of watches 😉

I would say that’s it quirky cool when so many offshores started to look alike. This one stands proud of its quirkiness. ☺️

I had the offshore Polaris and sold it last year. Just didn’t fit in with my desire for quiet luxury. More subtle.

Circa 2007 with the little square indices. Discontinued now.

I really love the gold variants with those square indices.
Before buying mine years ago, I was just about to purchase the equivalent to yours in white gold, but it never happened.
