My first Minerva…
Many, many moons ago, on the day I became moderator here, a kind forum member agreed to meet in a town in the middle, allowing me to take over the watch on the same day.
I had the strap changed straight away, knowing getting a new Minerva one would not again be possible (well, Montblanc was kind of the spiritual successor and they had quite a choice of straps back then).
Both are still going strong many years later - and the watch goes to show that 34mm works perfectly well ⚖️
The Pythagore really embodies the golden ratio…
Not only in the movement design but in its overall proportions and aesthetic 👍🏻⚖️
The movement was designed that way…
As in the fourties the designers thought that this would improve the accuracy. The angles are all at 45, 90 and 180 degrees in the movement as an example.
And overall the proportions are truly spot on 😊👍🏻
As for the accuracy, for an unregulated watch it’s impressive and easily in chronometer standards 👌🏻

Absolutely one of my favorites, too - and a grand example that good horology and exquisite design choices do not have to cost the world 👍🏻
Fully agreed to that. There are always good examples of honest high end watchmaking
where the money does not have to go mostly to marketing and other overhead costs
There was practically no overhead back in the day at Minerva 😊
But they were an early club watch pioneer, albeit not at WPS 😊👍🏻

Minerva watches I have ever seen. Do you know the Reference Number? Is it a Vintage watch or a (very well-done) Re-Issue?
No reissues there 🤷🏻♂️
This one is from 1996 but similar models have been around for almost 50 years prior to that. After Montblanc took it over from the Gnutti family, the brand as such disappeared 🤷🏻♂️
