Switching from Friday watch to the Saturday watch

 By: cfn : March 16th, 2024-19:52
Friday, I wore my lucky watch, the 1815 2nd generation, to a client session (an inspirational talk on how to work on your customer focus and commercial mindset in your role as a consultant).

Today, I’ve been wearing the 1815 Thin for a lunch with my new client for the next 6 months. New beginnings!

Both watches carry the Lange DNA but in different ways. The normal 1815 is so very traditional and crisp in its demeanor where the 1815 Thin is slightly more sophisticated and playful having dressed itself up in honeygold, an enamel dial and some special decorations on the movement.

Needless to say, I love them both. Amazing what a few tweaks can do to watches that  on paper are very similar.

I had forgotten about the 1815 Thin

Thanks for reminder and for your thoughts about that watch, Claus. I've never seen that dial in person. Looks beautiful.

It has lived a quiet lige since it was launched. Not as ‘noisy’ as some of their complicated watches. The dial is a stunner. Simplicity done right.

Honeygold, Enamel dial gorgeous.

Totally agree. And under the radar - not as obvious as a triple split or perpetual 😉

Beautiful duo

Both beautiful watches...that thin in HG is perfection...what a stunner!

No surprise - I totally agree! Always amazed when I strap it on.

The honey gold is so subtle.

And subtle is soooo good. Love the under-the-radar appearance of this watch. A bit like the Geophysic True Second. If you know, you know 😉

Totally agree!

Can I then consult with you on how to take nice watch photo

even though I may never be your client. 🤣
Nice pairing!

Easy

1) Get a phone with a good camera. I’m using the iPhone 15 Pro Max
2) Be aware of the light and reflections. I don’t have a portable ‘studio’ like Amanico. Sometimes I use mewspapers etc. to reduce unwanted light/reflections. Stilk have a lot to learn here.
3) Take lots of pictures in one session. One or two may come out good.
4) Don’t be afraid to crop. It can make a decent picture out of a poor one (amd this is also where the quality of the camera pays off).
Sorry, my consulting genes had to use bullet point and many words to explain simple stuff. At least you avoid the PowerPoint this time 😂

I do use stuff to block off additional light when I need to work pictures. 😅

I prefer the 1815 2nd gen

With its blue hands and sub seconds at 6..

Of coz I am biased

Haha. That kind of biased I totally get. Nice strap!

The strap gives it a totally different feel

What a great pair and photos, Claus!

Another consultant: excellent! ;-)

The 1815 in 40mm is a simple, classy piece. I wear mine to important meetings too.

Like other posters here, I’ve never seen the 1815 Thin “in the metal”. The combination of the honey gold, enamel dial, 1815 numerals and specially-decorated Saxonia Thin movement appeals to me - especially the dial. The movement is particularly interesting though: beyond this one’s special decoration, look closely and you’ll notice that - unlike comparable Lange gear trains in the L051.2 and L051.3 calibres - the teeth of the gear train are individually polished. A treat.

To “new beginnings”!

Haha. Good to hear that there are others here.
Yes, the Thin is more special than you’d think at a first glance/touch. The visible gear train is another attraction and the finishing of the teeth is worth the price of admission alone. Simply breathtaking.
This is also why it beat two Pateks that were on the table as options when I bought it.
Than kyou,
Claus

1815 Thin is EXTRA special!

I love them both, but the honey gold 1815 Thin is such a special subtle watch.
