Lange & Sohne Langematik Limited Edition for Wempe, in yellow gold.

The Langematik for Wempe, I could see it in platinum, and in rose gold, but in yellow gold, never!

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to see one and to photograph it, thanks to NinoItaliano.

Issued in these three versions in 2005, curiously in a limited edition of 100 pieces in platinum and in yellow gold, and only 25 pieces in rose gold, this watch has some nice proportions, with a 40, 6 mm case.

The choice of yellow gold enhances its retro look, ans is quite charming.

The Cal L921.6:

Quite nice!

Best,

Nicolas

Wempe does have the best LEs. I love the 1815 sidestep as well.

Obviously better than the bucherer blue versions that are currently on the market. I must say that i havent seen this LE often so far. Thanks for sharing!

Yes, we don't see it very often, indeed. My pleasure, Reuven. [nt]

I must confess that I like the back more than the front of this watch [nt]

Proportions...

I really love the Wempe GLG (Grosse Langematik Gangreserve)! All 3 metals are beautiful. I own the PT version, but I think the YG version is a bit more attractive. The proportions of this watch are difficult to appreciate unless you see it in person, but the diameter-to-thickness ratio is just perfect.

Several years ago, I was invited to a Patek event along with two other local collectors (who are also Purist regulars). I've never owned a Patek, so I ended up wearing a Lange to this event. My two friends decided to wear Langes as well, and we coordinated our efforts so we could take this photo below (which I've posted before but am happy to have an excuse to repost!).

It's a wonderful coincidence that among the 3 of us, we collectively owned all 3 metals (RG left, PT center, YG right).

Wow, indeed, my friend! First time I see a picture of the three all together. I totally agree on the diameter / thickness ratio. Very consistent. [nt]

I wish they made this watch as a manual wind.
Reminds me a Lange marine chronometer from WWII that I once had in the collection.
Kind regards,
Dan

Indeed, about the inspiration. Thanks for your comment. [nt]
