My crazy summer selection of 12 watches.

Why 12? Some may wonder. But it is quite simple. Most of the rest of the year, I wear the same watch for at least two weeks. Sometimes for a a full month...Story

Hentschel H1 Chronometer P20. Happy Second Anniversary!

Avatar
amanico
In late June 2022, the first Hentschel H1 Chronometer P20 landed on our wrists. I got mine a bit later in late July, but it is time to celebrate our " Baby's " second birthday! With time passing, I love it more and more, I have to say, and I wear it quite regularly. The Hentschel is not a show off watch, it is made for those who are in the know, a secret handshake between friends. A subtle, class and cool watch which gives a lot of satisfaction and pleasure...Story

Best Watch Collaboration Pieces

Avatar

Watch collaborations are almost always a bad idea. How many brands has Ferrari partnered with? GP (who's now with Aston Martin), Panerai, Hublot, and now Richard Mille? Not only are collaborations fleeting and "in-the-moment" but they're rarely done well. Some collaborations are a match in one area but a total mismatch in another area. For instance, Breitling and Bentley.....Story

Where are we with watches? Some thoughts on the current watch world.

Avatar

That may sound like a strange question on a watch forum. We are all here because we are watch fans and lovers, but the question remains. I had this discussion many times, with a lot of friends, through private message or in person, recently. Indeed, for some years now, the watch fair(s) are less and less interesting, the novelties are not so thrilling, or, should I say less and less exciting, while prices are madly going up, Innovation is less and less present, as well as daring watches...Story

Daytona "Le Mans" 126529LN 18k White Gold.

Avatar

Here are some relatively good photos I found on the net about this " Le Mans " Daytona, from 2023, which was produced only one year in white gold. The key details are that this version was issued to celebrate two dates: The 100th edition of the famous Le Mans Race, last year, and the 60th anniversary of the not less famous Rolex Chronograph. The Devil is in the details. This Daytona, too: The black dial has a sun-ray finish, which is quite elegant...Story

Breguet 3237 Chronograph " Tuxedo " Onyx dial.

Avatar

We can objectively say that the 3237 with this Onyx dial is rare. I only saw 4 during all these years, 3 in photos, one in person, which led me to take some photos to share with you. It seems that there is a 5th one hidden in another collection, as well as at least one in yellow gold. The 3237 Onyx was issued in 1994 / 1995...Story

Watches and Wonders 2024: Some thoughts and wishes about the CHOPARD MILLE MIGLIA CLASSIC CHRONOGRAPH JX7.

Avatar

Chopard comes with a new version of the MILLE MIGLIA, called CLASSIC CHRONOGRAPH JX7, which is a limited edition of 250 pieces Nothing really new under the sun, with the exception of a superb deep dark blue dial and a nice decoration on the case back. Even if I would have preferred a solid case back for some reasons I will mention below, mainly because of the movement. As for the dial, I would have gone for a " no date " version. At 4.30, this date kills the purity and the symmetry of this very cool looking .....Story

Press release: CHRONOGRAPHE FB Celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Boutique F.P.Journe Tokyo

Avatar
ChristianDK
At a time when watch brands favoured retailers for their distribution, François-Paul Journe chose not to follow convention. He was the first to open a subsidiary and a boutique under his own name in Aoyama, in central Tokyo. Just a stone's throw from the Nezu Museum, in the Omotesando district, the Boutique F.P.Journe Tokyo opened its doors in September 2003 inside “La Collezione”, the work of Tadao Ando, the architect of spirituality. The layout was entirely imagined by Seihachi Sagawa and François-Paul .....Story
